Proven reference ball sets with 6 balls Ø 145 mm each, or with 3 balls Ø 200 mm for 46-LZK3-P200.
Both ball types are supplied with an M8 internal thread and a 40 mm magnetic base. This gives you the option of attaching the balls to an M8 external thread or magnetic surfaces. For non-magnetic surfaces, we recommend the centering washers listed in the table below, which you can either screw or glue on.

Reference spheres are available in two qualities:
Standard reference balls
Inexpensive balls with a painted surface and normal precision for occasional use under normal conditions (gentle handling of the ball in the temperature range from 0° to + 50° Celsius).
PRO reference balls
Particularly robust and precisely manufactured balls made of through-dyed, impact-resistant, shock-absorbing special plastic.
PRO balls are designed for daily use under extreme conditions and also meet the highest quality requirements. Thanks to their high-precision geometry, these balls are suitable for applications with the highest accuracy requirements.
Centering disks
Centering disks can be used to quickly and repeatedly position both reference spheres and mini prisms. The centering disks can be screwed or glued on. To achieve the highest possible accuracy, we recommend using the precision centering disk. Thanks to the integrated countersink, the magnetic base of the ball centers itself on the centering plate with millimetre precision and there is no need to align the ball manually, as is the case with the standard centering disc. In addition to fastening with standard wood screws, the precision centering disk also offers the option of using an M8 countersunk head screw. We recommend using our brass expansion dowel here.
Prisms
The use of reference prisms is recommended to achieve maximum accuracy and to easily transfer the scan object to an existing coordinate system. The identical magnetic base makes it easy to switch between prism and sphere. The center of the prism corresponds exactly to the center of the sphere.
Compatible scanners
The ball surface and the coating are optimally matched to the various commercially available scanners and their wavelengths; compatibility only needs to be checked separately for scanners from Riegel.

The scope of delivery includes 6 balls, or 3 balls with magnetic adapter and M8 internal thread, as well as the special case with foam insert.
In addition to the standard magnetic base with M8 female thread, inexpensive plastic feet with centering plate (order no. 46-LZK-KF1/6) are available for all variants, which can be set up without an instrument tribrach.
For use of the spheres on the stand or in the instrument tripod with claw mount, we offer our height adapter 46-LZK-HA, which brings the center of the sphere to a reference height of 196 mm (from the lower edge of the adapter). This height is identical to the tilt axis heights of the current total stations from LEICA and Trimble.
