Very precisely manufactured glass mini prisms in Sphere holders made of galvanized steel or special stainless steel that reacts to magnets. The spheres are available with Ø 30 mm or 1.5" (38.1 mm) are available. Distance measurements up to 1,000 m are possible with spherical prisms, for measurements over 400 m we strongly recommend the 1.5" sphere.
The prism constant must be set on the total station be set with the correct sign. Only then will the measured inclined distance be corrected by this amount within the device. We specify the Leica offsets and the offsets of other instrument manufacturers here.
The specified ranges are dependent on the device and weather conditions.
For the transport and storage of our ball prisms, we recommend the case no. 46-1468.
On request, the 46-1445 ball prism can be purchased with a test certificate from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology at a price of €135 net in addition to the list price. This test certificate refers to the ball prism, the serial number of which is engraved on the back of the ball.
In addition to the position of the prism center to the sphere center, the prism constant K is specified, which was determined from several comparative measurements to a high-precision reference reflector.
When ordering, please add the suffix -PS (46-1445-PS) to the order number.
